Contralateral Breast Symmetrisation

The contralateral (unaffected) breast will generally be different and not symmetrical after a wide local excision or mastectomy with reconstruction. 

This breast is an important consideration in breast oncoplastic surgery. 

Consideration ranges from a breast lift, breast reduction, breast augmentation or prophylactic. risk reduction mastectomy with reconstruction.

Timing can be at the time of surgery of the affected breast cancer side, or delayed.
